Andres Iniesta not interested with the FIFA BallonD’or

Barcelona and Spain midfielder stated that he is not interested in winning the FIFA BallonD’or.

He said that the most important thing for him is to be surrounded by quality players and to ensure that his team comes out victorious.

Andres Iniesta has been impressive in the first two games of the Euro 2016 and seemed to be back to his best level. This has reflected in the way Spain has dominated the first two games which are reminiscent of the team that won the Euros and the World Cup. His good form has prompted calls for Iniesta to be included among the BallonD’or nominees.

Andres Iniesta said that he is grateful for the praise and that for the moment he wants to focus on the team. He stated that there is still one game left in the group stage and that Spain still needs to go through the knock-out stage. He believes that it is too early to speak about a Spain triumph and that they will need to stay focus on each game.

He said that the Spain manager Vincente Del Bosque has been doing a great job and that he hopes that he will stay as manager for a long time. He believes he is the right man for Spain at the moment, and he hopes that they can win the Euros with this team.

Andres Iniesta said that he value team spirit above the BallonD’or, but he does not think that it is an unfair award. He believes that Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo has been deserving of the awards during the recent years.
