EL CLASICO: LEWANDOWSKI MAKES BARCELONA DEBUT

Polish international Robert Lewandowski has made his debut for new club Barcelona following his transfer from German Bundesliga side Bayern Munich. Two-time FIFA Ballond'or winner Lewandowski had one year left on his current deal with the German Bundesliga outfit before he left the club to join Barcelona.

Lewandowski is one of the best strikers in the world and he has won the FIFA Ballond'or on two occasions. He won the FIFA Ballond'orfor the first time in 2020 and then retained the award last year. Bayern Munich officials were keen to retain theservices of Lewandowski, but the reigning FIFA Ballond'or winner said he's keen topursue a dream move to Barcelona. The former Lech Poznan and Borussia Dortmund star eventually got his transfer to Barcelona.

Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez handed Lewandowski a starting role for the Real Madrid game in the United States on Saturday night. The El Clasico clash between Real Madrid and Barcelona was a pre-season friendly, but it was nothing like that due to the known history between the two clubs.

The latest El Clasico was decided by new Barcelona signing Raphinha who produced a moment of real quality some few minutes into the second quarter of the game. Brazilian defender Eder Militao made an error and he was punished by his compatriot via a stunning strike. The goal on 26 minutes turned out to be the winner. Raphinha became a Barcelona player this month after the Catalans agreed a deal with Premier League side Leeds United. His goal in the El Clasico made it two goals in two Barcelona games since his transfer from the Premier League. Raphinha was one of the goalscorers on his debut for the Blaugrana as he propelled his new team to a 6-0 win over MLS team Inter Miami.
