JORGINHO BAGS UEFA AWARD

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has won the UEFA Player of the Year Award. The Italian national team player bagged the award earlier this week. He was named the recipient of the UEFA Award ahead of Chelsea teammate N'GoloKante and Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne.

Jorginho is one of the favourites to win the FIFA Ballon d'Or Award this year and the UEFA Best Player Award would further boost his chances of succeeding Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski as the new recipient of the FIFA Ballon d'Or Award. Jorginho beat both Kante and De Bruyne to the UEFA Best Player Award and they are also both in the running for the FIFA Ballon d'Or Award just like what's obtainable with the Italian international.

Italian player Jorginhowas a key player for Chelsea in midfield asthey won the UEFA Champions League last season. He was a constant member of the Chelsea midfield alongsideKante. The Blues saw off Real Madrid in the last four before a slim win over Premier League rivals Manchester City in the final handed the London team a second Champions League title.
Jorginhowas also a key player for the Italian senior national team who defeated their English counterparts on penalties to win the Euro 2020 tournament. Unlike club teammate Kante, Jorginho was able to add the Euro 2020 title to the Champions League title.The ex-Napoli player was also in the Chelsea team that won the UEFA Super Cup earlier this month by beating Spanish La Liga team Villarreal on penalties after the two teams played out a 1-1 draw at the end of extra time. He has been a regular in the Chelsea team since the start of the new season thereby continuing from last season. Jorginho has featured in the two London Derby games in the new Premier League campaign from the start in addition to the UEFA Super Cup.
